GYM March Update

[Tue, March 09, 2010] Vancouver Olympic Team

The Vancouver Olympics team returned on Saturday February 20th from serving at the Olympics. They arrived in Vancouver on Day 2 of the Olympics and were in Vancouver for 8 days. This Vancouver trip looked a little different than most of our other Vancouver trips which have been mainly involved in serving the downtown east side of Vancouver and the ministries involved there. We spent much of our time serving in hospitality stations and doing street ministry. We were partnered with More Than Gold and the Salvation Army who were kind enough to provide us with Jackets.

Stories and testimonies are just coming out, see the website in the coming weeks for testimonies and pictures. Not only was the team able to connect with many people on the streets of Vancouver but also that this experience was very stretching and life changing. One of the highlights coming from the trip was the day the team did "Free Prayer", holding signs offering free prayer to anyone who walked by on Granville Street. The Groups were able to pray with many people both Christians and non-Christians, and there were a couple of people who were healed!

Belize Team
From February 18th to the 27th a team from Millwoods Christian School partnering with Global Youth Missions was in Belize. The students were in Orange Walk Belize. The team participated in presentations in schools, completing community projects, and serving communities in northern Belize any way they could. Will you GO with us? The summer teams going to Malawi and China are almost full; there may be opportunity for you to go if you contact us immediately. We are also looking for teams and individuals to serve here in our own country as well as overseas this year. We have missions opportunities in Quebec, Northwest Territories, Alberta and Labrador please contact us if you would like to apply or have any questions regarding these opportunities.
